Wood Print Edition with Limitedd
Limitedd Edition presents a new limited art release rooted in the refined visual culture of 19th-century Japan: Yatsuo No Tsubaki, a striking floral woodblock print created between 1860 and 1869 by Taguchi Tomoki. This edition revives a rare botanical image through a contemporary production process that honors both craftsmanship and material authenticity.

A Flower of Elegance and Symbolism
Yatsuo No Tsubaki depicts the camellia—tsubaki in Japanese—a flower long associated with elegance, transience, and quiet strength. Rendered with restraint and balance, the composition reflects the late Edo-period sensibility in which nature is distilled into form, rhythm, and atmosphere rather than literal description.
Taguchi Tomoki’s work belongs to a lineage of Japanese printmakers who focused on flora as a subject of contemplation, elevating the everyday flower into an object of poetic focus.
Reimagined on Wood
For this Limitedd edition, the original woodblock print is translated onto FSC-certified birch wood, a material that naturally complements the organic subject matter. The visible wood grain subtly interacts with the image, introducing depth and variation that make each print unique. The matte finish and clean, edge-to-edge printing ensure a contemporary presentation while preserving the artwork’s quiet, timeless character.
Unprinted white areas intentionally reveal the birch surface beneath, allowing the natural texture of the wood to become part of the composition—an echo of the handcrafted origins of Japanese woodblock printing.
